When someone recommends that you try a local donut shop, you go. It's hard to go wrong with a donut and it's the perfect snack for a vacationing Bloghungry. Apparently, Top Pot has partenered up with Starbucks, which could explain their pimped out website. There are also rumors on the web that Starbucks will be carrying Top Pot donuts.
Atmosphere: The general vibe of the shop is greasy spoon truck stop meets the library from Clue. The rotating neon sign out front has a chic charm that is offset by the rows of old books lining the inside walls.
Clientele: Mostly hipsters and coffee junkies looking for their next fix.
The Food: I’ve never been the biggest fan of a cake donut, but these did have a more flavorful and a less dense quality than most. The selection wasn’t huge and many of the flavors were predictable, but I do recommend the applesauce and the chocolate with maple frosting as my personal favorites.

The Starbucks at work already carries Top Pot donuts. The samples I had were pretty good for cake donuts, the red-headed stepchild of donut types.

Yach, the Starbucks around here(L.A.) already have 'em. I think the best donuts are from Doughnut Plant, NY. (sighs)....
